All shades (except colourless) are light-resistant and can be mixed together to provide additonal colours or they can be lightened with colourless. Do not treat timber exposed to weather with colourless only since this causes premature greying of the wood.

Odour
Mild when applying, odourless when dry.

Flash Point
Over 55 degree C.

Drying Time
Under normal conditions (20 degree C and 65% relative air humidity) dry after approx. 6 hours and can be painted over after approx. 12 hours. High air humidity and low temperatures delay drying.


Application Recommendations
Interiors:
1 - 2 coats depending on colour intensity required.

Exteriors (normal weather conditions):
1 base coat of impra-color or impra-Holzschutzgrund (Primer)
2 coats impra-elan

Exteriors (extreme weather conditions):
1 base coat of impra-color or impra-Holzschutzgrund (Primer)
3 coats impra-elan

Preparation:
Stir impra-elan well before use to guarantee uniform coating.

Surface:
This should be dry, dust and grease free.

Humidity of timber to be treated:
soft woods: up to 15%
hard woods: up to 12%

Prior to treatment tropical woods with ethereal infiltrates should be rubbed with a cloth soaked in cellulose thinners and brushed vigorously with a brush, following the line of the fibres.

We recommend a trial coat in all cases. Do not apply at temperatures of less than +5 degree C (surface, air and product) or in blazing sun.

Renovation:
Remove dust, grime or slightly worn timber by sanding down in the direction of the grain. Apply 1 - 2 coats of impra-elan.

Application Methods
Brushing, spraying (airless), flow coating.

Re-seal containers after use.

Cleaning Tools
Turpentine or white spirit.

Guideline for Application Rates
60-90 ml/sq. per coat.

Safety Advice
Always observe general precautions for working with organic solvents.

Ensure adequate ventilation of workshops. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe spray mist. Wear goggles and mask when spraying or in insufficiently ventilated areas.Cover light swiches, sockets and electric cables to avoid short-circuiting. Avoid naked flame. Do not spray plants.


Wash face and hands thoroughly before eating and after work. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Keep out of reach of children and away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Do not pour into household receptacles for food or beverages.

Special Risks
Can be irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin.

Storage
Can be stored for at least 2 years. Re-seal opened containers tightly after use. Keep only in the original container, to be handled by competent persons.
