Two-component epoxy primer suitable for use on ferrous metal substrates such
as: railway cars, engines, tankers, containers, trucks, heavy equipment and
holding tanks.
STORAGE
This product may be stored up to 12 months in its original unopened container
at a maximum temperature 35°C (95°F).
Tests carried on sandblasted steel to white metal (SSPC-SP-5) at
a dry film thickness of 4-6 mils (100-150 microns) after an ageing
period of 7 days at 25°C (77°F).
Adhesion to substrate: 100% - 5B (ASTM D-3359B)
Hardness: H - 2H (ASTM D-3363)
Gloss (60°): Satin
Corrosion resistance(1): Excellent
salt spray 1000 hours
Humidity resistance(1): Excellent
humidity cabinet 1000 hours
(1) See additional dry film properties on back.

(1) Calculation based on minimum volume solids at a dry film thickness of
1 mil (25 microns).
SURFACE PREPARATION
* Surface must be clean, dry and free of soot, grease, oil or any other
contaminant.
* To ensure good adhesion, ferrous surfaces must be sandblasted.
For optimum chemical resistance:
Sandblast to near white metal (SSPC-SP-10).
For immersion:
Sandblast to white metal (SSPC-SP-5).
MIX AND DILUTION
* Mixing ratio ready to use (volume/volume):
. 577-625: 2½ parts
. 576-092 (hardener): 1 part
* No induction time necessary.
* Pot life: 6 hours maximum.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
By spray, using either:
* conventional pneumatic
* airless
Maximum tip opening: 15 mils
Application recommendations:
* Dry film thickness:
. Sandblasted steel: 4 to 6 mils (100 to 150 microns)
Minimum 2 mils (50 microns) over blast profile.
* Apply at a minimum temperature of 10°C (50°F) and maximum
of 35°C (95°F).
* After a drying period of 72 hours, sand primer lightly before
application of topcoat.
* Recommended topcoats:
